Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Opthria (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use our website, forms, and related services. It is intended to be clear and practical; it is not legal advice. Have qualified counsel review for your jurisdiction before advertising.

1. Scope

This policy applies to personal data processed through pages hosted on our domain (including embedded third-party forms), email communications we send in connection with the service, and optional marketing where you have consented or applicable law allows.

2. Data we collect

  • Application and profile data: name, contact details, CV or work history, answers you submit in application forms, and similar recruitment information.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, and diagnostic logs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: as described in our Cookie Policy.
  • Communications: messages you send to support and records needed to handle requests.

3. Purposes and legal bases (summary)

Depending on your region, we rely on one or more of: performance of a contract or pre-contract steps, legitimate interests (operating and securing the platform, analytics in aggregate), consent (non-essential cookies and certain marketing), and legal obligation. We use data to:

  • Operate the platform, authenticate sessions, and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Process applications and share relevant information with employers or hiring partners you apply to.
  • Communicate about your application, account, or service changes.
  • Measure site performance and improve content (including analytics; see below).
  • Send marketing communications when permitted and with an unsubscribe option.

4. Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly analytics or third-party measurement tools to understand traffic and conversion patterns. Where required, we will obtain consent before loading non-essential analytics cookies. You can manage cookies through our cookie controls and your browser settings.

5. Marketing

If you opt in, we may send relevant updates about roles or services. You can opt out at any time using the link in marketing emails or by contacting privacy@opthria.com. We do not sell personal data as a business model; any “sale/share” disclosures required in your jurisdiction should be reviewed by your counsel.

6. Sharing

We may share personal data with: employers or partners involved in a role you applied to; service providers who host our site, deliver email, or support IT security; professional advisers when required; and authorities when required by law. Third-party form providers (for example, embedded application forms) process data under their own terms—review their privacy notice before submitting sensitive information.

7. International transfers

If you apply to international employers, your data may be accessed from other countries. Where transfers require safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses), we implement measures appropriate to the risk.

8. Retention

We retain application data for as long as needed to manage recruitment workflows, comply with law, resolve disputes, and then delete or anonymize it according to our retention schedule (define internally and publish a summary here if desired).

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No online transmission is completely secure; please use strong passwords and avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive data.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact privacy@opthria.com or use our Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

11. Children

Our services are not directed to children under the age required to work in your jurisdiction. If you believe we have collected a child’s data in error, contact us and we will delete it where required by law.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change; material changes may be communicated by email or a site notice.
